To the editor;
On Saturday Oct. 15 we will be holding our fifth annual “Dessert Extravaganza” fundraiser.
The event will be held in the KOA banquet room from 7-10 p.m. The Dessert Extravaganza is a buffet of decadent delights prepared by local culinary artists and businesses.
The entertainment this year is Bill Fowler and Friends. The door prize this year is a round trip for two, sponsored by WESTJET. You must be in attendance to win, and it is also non transferable. Some of the silent auction items this year are VIA Rail, round trip for two from Kamloops, B.C. to Edmonton, AB, Wells Gray Air Service, flight for two. two night stay Apline Meadow Resort, Mike Wiegele Helicopter skiing package. The Auxiliary was started in 1970 by community members interested in getting a hospital for Clearwater and the surrounding area. Our Auxiliary has grown to over 55 members who volunteer their time and have raised more than $420,000 to purchase equipment for the hospital and ambulance service. We are the only hospital located between Kamloops B.C. and Jasper AB.
All of the money raised stays in our community and in turn keeps our hospital with up to date equipment making it more appealing to locums and doctors.
Advance tickets are only $25 each and are available at Watauga Village Office, KOA front desk, Hospital Gift Shop and from Auxiliary members. Last year the fund-raiser sold out two weeks in advance and had to turn away numerous people so please remember to get them early. Tickets are non refundable.
If you are interested in donating an item for the silent auction, sponsor a table or if you love to bake and would like to kindly donate a dessert please call Fay 250-674-2700 or Leslie 250-674-3205.
