Valley residents invited to share in community Christmas event

To North Thompson Valley residents;

We will be hosting a free Christmas community event. On Sunday Dec. 18, at the Elks hall in Clearwater from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

We would like to extend this invitation to all Valley residents.

Last year we the Aboriginal Engagement Success By 6 table and the North Thompson Aboriginal Sharing Centre hosted a Christmas event along with the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce.

This year our partners are Clearwater Festival and Events Society (CFES), and  the Royal Purple Lodge #302.

This community event is to gather and share the in the Christmas Spirit. Long ago people would put aside any differences, that they as adults had, and made the holiday season a special time for all children.

It is not about all the glamour and glitz, and presents, it is about taking time to relax and enjoy each other’s company.

It is our job to teach the children the true meaning of Christmas; if we do not teach the children then who will?

On that note, this is why we have fundraised throughout the year so that we could give back to the community by hosting a free family event.

There will be free food, free door prizes, free games, free crafts; and the admission to this wonderful event is a “smile”.

So put on your Santa or elf hat, and join us on Sunday, Dec.18, at the Elks hall.

Yours In Community Spirit,

Cindy Wilgosh
