Jill Hayward
Jill has been with the Star/Journal since 1993, serving as editor since 2004. She is the recipient of the Black Press Jerry Mac Award for outstanding community journalism, and is a Ma Murray Newspaper Awards winner in photography. She is the recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and the British Columbia Community Achievement Award. Currently she is the president of the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo Association and serves on the board of directors for the Lower North Thompson Tourism Association. Jill is also the Literacy Outreach Coordinator for our area.

Lisa has been with Black Press since 2006 producing high quality products for both the Star/Journal and the Clearwater Times. She has won numerous awards for her ad design and layout, which shows in the quality of the products that she produces for our advertisers. Lisa’s positions have included production, sales, office and circulation management as well as relief editor and publisher – if you have a question she will find the answer.

Administrative Coordinator, Graphic Artist
Kiana Noble
Kiana joined the North Thompson Star/Journal in 2015 when she had a two week practicum for post Secondary Administrative Assistant schooling with Thompson Rivers University. This contract then lead to a casual office position until early 2016 where she became a permanent employee. In January 2017 Kiana welcomed her second child, returning to work in March of 2018 where she now fills the positions of Graphic Designer Office Administrator, while assisting clients with display ads and pricing, and is the friendly face greeting customers at the front desk.

Group Publisher BC Interior
Martina Dopf
Martina Dopf started as a sales consultant with the 100 Mile Free Press in 2005 before taking on the publisher position in 2016 and assuming the role of Group Publisher for the BC Interior in 2018. She is now overseeing the 100 Mile Free Press, Ashcroft Cache Creek Journal, the North Thompson Star/Journal as well as the Clearwater Times.
Before moving to Canada in 2003, Martina graduated with a Bachelor degree in International Business and Management, Marketing and Public Relations from the University of Applied Sciences in Nuertingen, Germany.

Regional Editor BC Interior
Kelly Sinoski

Kelly graduated from the Journalism program at Langara College and has reported for newspapers across B.C. and overseas for the past 30 years. She most recently worked at the Vancouver Sun where she covered regional issues and transportation. Raised on a farm outside Clinton, Kelly returned to the Cariboo in early 2020 and has taken up residence at 108 Mile Ranch.
