Barriere Search and Rescue member Tim Hoffman gets ready to cut the cake during the open house held Apr. 2.

Members of Barriere Search and Rescue held an open house on Saturday, Apr. 2, welcoming everyone in to see their new home.

Since the organization first formed back in 1983, and officially became incorporated on Oct. 27, 1987, they have been looking for somewhere to call home.

Now they have one.  Located right next door to the Fire Hall on Barriere Town Road is a brand new building - the Search and Rescue Hall.

The new hall has room to house both Search and Rescue vehicles, as well as all their other gear and equipment, washroom facilities and even has a small office.

New members are needed, and their are many jobs volunteers can do, not just highway rescue or searches.  If you would like more information about the group or how you can participate, please contact Alan at 672-5899, Tim at 672-9972 or Aimee at 672-5138.
