It’s over!  We started our first golf night on a beautiful April afternoon and we finished on another beautiful fall afternoon with 44 ladies playing a final round.

Many wondered why our season was finishing so early when the weather was still lovely.  By the time we had all finished supper, held our annual meeting and presented prizes we remembered why.  It was bloody cold.

As the last prize was handed out everyone made a beeline for the warmth of their cars and the quiet descended on the patio once again.

The sponsors for low gross/low net this week were Armour Mountain Office Services (flight one), HUB International/Chad Belbin (flight two), Stamer Logging (flight three) and MJB Lawyers (flight four).  Flight one winners were Marla Muldoon (low gross) and Louise Lodge (low net).  Flight two winners were Deb Rainer (low gross by retro) and Vicki Hoffer (low net).  Flight three winners were Linda Ransome (low gross) and Betty Baillie (low net).  Flight four winners were Jen Amos (low gross) and Irene Beeton (second low gross).

The birdie pot was split between Marie Hakes, Christina LeCerf and Cindy Leibel.

For the last time this year here are the pin placements thanks to our fantastic sponsors.

Long putts earned prizes for Karen Peterson (Pottery by Ramona), Leslie Stirling (Rainer Custom Cutting), Lynda Fournier (Station House Restaurant), Lindsay Arcand (The Blue Jar Coffee Bar and Bistro) and Marian Wallace (Barriere Timber Mart).  Drives - long and short - earned prizes for Karen Peterson (Crystlee’s Hair Design), Deb Rainer (Country Store Antiques), Evelyn Lucas (Estylo Hair Design), Ashley Salle (Knight’s Inn), and Betty Baillie (Barriere A&W).  KP’s prizes went to Susan Newberry (Carl’s Market Garden and Ron Wallace Trucking), Ilke Marais (Campbell and Co.), Wanda Amos (EBL Ventures),  and Cathy Theriault (Royal LePage/Westwin Realty).

Three ladies went in the gully on hole seven and were rewarded with goodie bags from Barb and Carman Smith.  Marla Muldoon picked up the Val Bella Studio certificate for KP in two on hole seven.

Landing closest to the 150 marker won prizes for Ashley Salle (hole five - Sam’s Pizza) and Donna Salle (hole eight - Barriere Massage).

Most putts prize from Gift ‘n Gab went to Brenda Carl and the least putts prize from AG Foods went to someone whose name I forgot to write down.  Sorry about that.  I guess if I only messed up once this year you should be willing to forgive me.

Prizes for the ringer board were handed out with Marla Muldoon and Marian Wallace sharing the low score (36) and Val Aylward winning the most improved.

I was surprised to find that my final score was quite close to the low score which means although I didn’t have any good games this year I did have some moments of brilliance.

Heh, I will take whatever I can get.

We finished with door prizes which included prizes from our Hole-in-One sponsors (Alpine Meadow Resort, Barriere Auto Parts and Bob Stirling).  Everyone took home a prize

Congratulations to our club champions.  Susan Mitchell won the low gross with a score of 85 for 18 holes and Evelyn Lucas took home the low net prize with a score of 107 (68 net).  Twelve ladies took part in the Championship on Saturday, Sept. 10.

Thanks to ladies captain Deb Rainer for the great job she did looking after the day.

So that’s all, folks.  See you next spring.
