The 56th Annual Squam Bay fish derby was held on July 10, 2011 at Adams Lake. We had 161 entries and 29 great looking fish in total were weighed in at the end of the day. Everyone had a great time and Mother Nature cooperated by giving us great weather with plenty of sun.
First place went to Jordan Dubyna from Armstrong BC with a 14 lb. 15 oz. lake trout. Second place went to Bernie Radford of Barriere B.C. with a 11 lb. 8 oz. lake trout. Biggest rainbow was a whopping 9 lb. 2 oz. and was won by James Rempel of Clearwater BC. Mercedes Miller of Chase B.C. was the proud winner of the $50 door prize.
A very special thank you to all those that helped make this event such a huge success. Also thank you to Alice Mayovsky for the wonderful food she provided in her concession. See you all again next year.
