Barriere Elementary School does well at District Track Meet

Over 60 students make the trip to Kamloops to participate at the Zone Track Meet

Mr. Allen and the staff at Barriere Elementary (BES) say they are very proud of the school’s student athletes.

The school reports they had over 60 students make the trip to Kamloops to participate at the Zone Track Meet on May 19, at Hillside Stadium.

On May 26, once again at Hillside Stadium in Kamloops, the following BES students not only participated in the District Track Meet, but they also placed in the top eight:

• Kayla Chrystal, Tyke 400m 8th place

• Georgia Clough, Tyke 100m 2nd place, 200m 1st place, and Triple Jump 7th place

• Sawyer Cousins, Tyke 1500m 5th place, and High Jump 3rd place

• Emma Pederson, PeeWee I 1500m 6th place

• Francis Proppe, PeeWee I 1500m 7th place

• Adam Gordon, Pee Wee II 100m 5th place, 200m 4th place, and Long Jump 3rd place

• Halle Smith, Bantam I 200m 4th place

• Meghan Balatti, Bantam I Shot Put 4th place

• Kash Sigouin, Bantam I 800m 6th place

• Tyson Schilling, Bantam I High Jump 8th place

The school also sends a thank you to students Bryce Welz and Monica Lee for taking the time to help out at the shot put during the District Track Meet.
