Barriere Secondary building on basketball successes

The senior boys team is looking like a potential West Zone Championship team

Barriere Secondary School

This year Barriere Secondary looks to build on the success of our basketball programs from the 2013-2014 season.

The senior boys team is looking like a potential West Zone Championship team and could very well be completing for the Okanagan Valley title at the end of February.

Mr. Dean Cruzelle has rejoined Barriere’s coaching staff after taking last season away and has taken on the challenge of getting our senior boys in top playing form.

The junior boys basketball team is looking to defend their West Zone Championship title this season with their new bench boss, Mr. Cory Carmicheal. The team has a strong core of returning players from last year’s championship squad, and with the addition of some new talented players the season outlook is a positive one.

On the girls side, we are extremely excited and fortunate that Miss. Seana Trimble has decided to come back to Barriere and coach our Senior girls again this season.

The girls have been working hard to get back into playing form. This season we expect to see some high pressure, quick paced style of basketball from this team.

The juniors girls also are looking to defend their West Zone title this season. Taking the helm again for Barriere’s junior girls is Mr. Ian Mitchell. With only graduating a handful of athlete to the senior team last year and gaining some strength from this seasons rookie the girls look poised to repeat as champions once again.
