Barriere’s Kash Siqouin wins BC High School Rodeo Rookie of the Year

Barriere teen Kash Siqouin has been awarded the BC High School Rodeo Rookie Of The Year, as well as the Team Header award, which means he is ranked the number one header for all of B.C. this season.

As a result of the awards Kash is now qualified in team roping and calf roping for the Canadian High School Rodeo Finals in Nanton, Alberta, July 27 - 29, and is also qualified to compete at the U.S. National Finals High School Rodeo Finals in Gillette, Wyoming, July 17 - 23.

This is Kash’s first year as a senior in High School Rodeo and his equine calf roping partner is Cartoon. His team roping human partner is Carson Payton.

Kash, who is in grade 9, says he really wants to thank his parents “for everything they do” for him, and his grandpa Cliff, “for picking up the slack and always getting him to practice”.

He leaves for Wyoming with his family on July 12.
