BSS basketball season almost here

Barriere Secondary School (BSS) say their basketball season is right around the corner

Barriere Secondary School (BSS) say their basketball season is right around the corner.

Ashley Shannik will be coaching the Senior Boys basketball team, but the athletics department reports they are currently looking for three more coaches.

The success of the BSS program depends on the involvement of community coaches. If you are interested in coaching please contact Mr. Tommasini at btommasini@sd73.bc.ca, or call the school at 250-672-9943.

The school sends a big thank you to all the parents who drive their kids to practices and come out and support at all games.

A special thank you as well to Denise Wright and Sandra Realff for all of their fundraising efforts, which includes a much appreciated $1000 grant recently received from the 911 Emergency Services program.  This grant has been divided amongst the four BSS basketball teams.

BSS is hosting an Athletics Craft Fair/Bazaar event on Nov. 18 and 19 at the school with, raffle baskets, prizes, 50/50, food, beverages and more. All money raised will go directly to the sports teams involved in the fundraiser.
