BSS holds basketball tourney

Barriere Secondary School athletic report on basketball happenings

The weekend of Dec. 9, Barriere Secondary School hosted the Junior Cougar Classic Basketball Tournament.  Coach April Hamilton reports Junior Girls lost their first two games, but played “really well” and placed fifth, beating Clearwater in their last game 24-10 with eight points scored by Jamie Proulx.

The Junior Boys team placed third in the Classic, winning their last game against KCS 37-30, with 20 points by Brandon Proppe.

Junior Boys hosted KCS on Dec. 12, but lost a close game 42-32.

Senior Boys hosted Logan Lake, beating them 66-22 with 18 points for Dustin Machny, and 12 points for Reggie Hansen.

The Senior Girls beat Logan lake 78-13, with 25 points from Nicole Stamer, and 23 points from Molly Lampreau.

The next BSS home games are Thursday, Jan. 5, starting at 5 p.m.,  and Senior boys at 6:45p.m.

BSS will host the Cougar Classic on Jan. 13/14; games starting on the Friday at 2 p.m.
