BSS to host volleyball tourneys; weight room fees to be charged

Barriere Secondary hosts volleyball tourneys

Barriere Secondary School (BSS) will be hosting a Junior Girls Volleyball on Sept. 23, 24, provided there are enough teams.

BSS Athletic Director, April Hamilton,  says, “If we don’t get enough teams it will be a play day on the Saturday, Sept. 24, instead of the tourney.”

BSS Senior Girls Volleyball will also host a tournament Oct. 21, and 22.

Hamilton notes those using the school’s community weight room will now be charged a fee.  “We have decided to begin to charge the community weight room users a $10 monthly fee.  The reason for this charge is because the weight room equipment is in need of repair, and in some cases equipment replacement,” said Hamilton, “The monthly fees collected will be strictly used to update and replace equipment.  Members will need to sign an updated waiver, and pay the fee (either at the office during the day, or to one of the school custodians).  They will receive a punch card that they will need to show to gain entry into the facility.”
