Deuce and Birdie pots continue to build

Golfing has been interesting. Other years my foursome which includes Debbie Rainer, the Ladies Golf Captain, has usually teed off around 4:20 p.m. There has always been loads of ladies go out before us and loads go out after us. So we have had to make sure that we are playing in a timely fashion and keeping the game moving along. That is simply good golf etiquette. This year we have been the last group to go out.

This means no one is following us and we have been able to golf at a more leisurely pace.

Ladies Night Golf on May 19 we had lots to talk about - of course, from a safe distance - and we often forgot to keep on golfing. Jacob (a most excellent young man who works at the course) must have wondered what happened to us because what should have taken us less than two hours to play, actually took us two hours and 45 minutes. Well Jacob, we have taken note and promise to be better next week. Wish I could promise that my golf game will be better but…

The low gross winners (remember that means good, not yucky) were Marla Hajmerle (44) for Flight 1, Terry Blaeser (49) for Flight 2, Babes Shanko (54) for Flight 3 and Rose Seymour (59) for Flight 4. The low net winners (score with handicap deducted) were Cindy Leibel for Flight 1, Susan Bonder for Flight 2, and Marie Hakes for Flight 3. Second Low gross for Flight 4 was Sue Syfchuck. Sponsors for Flight 1 and 2 were the Smiths (Barb and Carman) and the Carls (Brenda and Brian).

Pin Placement Prizes (try saying that fast three times) for long putts went to Babes Shanko (Barriere Motor Inn)and Susan Bondar (Barriere Timber Mart). Long drive prizes went to Marie Hakes (Bear Lane Bistro), Rose Seymour (Gift ‘n Gab), Marla Hajmerle (Munro’s Clothing), Marian Wallace (Rainer Custom Cutting), Marie Hakes (Sam’s Pizza), Lois McInnis (Station House Restaurant), Susan Mitchell (Thompson Valley Awards) and Susan Bondar (AG Foods). KP prizes were picked up by Donna Salle (Westwin Realty), Audrey Rilcoe (MJB Lawyer), Evelyn Lucas (Salle Ranch), Rose Seymour (Stamer Logging) and Lorie Chambers (Campbell & Company). The KP in 2 on Hole 6 for Flight 4 was once again unclaimed. I am wondering if the ladies have missed the fact that it is KP in TWO and not just a straight KP. The KPs in 2 on Hole 7 were taken by Susan Mitchell (HUB International) and Babes Shanko (Quality Contractors). Betty Foote came closest to the 150 marker on Hole 9 to win the Armour Mountain Office prize. EBL Ventures sponsored the most/least putts prizes. Lorie Chambers had the most with a total of 24 while Marla Hajmerle had the least with 13.

Golfing buddy Lois McInnis once again took the Chip In pot all by herself while the Deuce and Birdie pots continue to build.

Changes are coming effective Tuesday, June 2. We will be making a big announcement about my favourite part of Ladies Night - the FOOD. An email will be going out to all the ladies on our list. If you would like to have your name added to that list give me a call at 250-672-5706.
