Gals on the greens July 12 at Chinook Cove

Ladies Night Golf at Chinook Cove Golf Resort every Tuesday

By Leslie Stirling

Well, one week down and two to go!  That is referring to the holiday that Debbie Rainer has taken and she has left me on my own.  Well, not really on my own.  The lovely Donna Salle has agreed to help.  And this week Barb Smith and Deb Winiski looked after the tickets.  The great group of ladies that golf on Tuesday nights would never leave me all on my own.  But I get so nervous when Debbie is away.  Silly, isn’t it.  But that is just the way my slightly twisted brain works.  Of course, my biggest concern is the Christmas in July golf night so I sure hope lots of you ladies have signed up.  Personally I am really looking forward to the turkey dinner.  I do believe I have mentioned before that I am extremely fond of turkey.  Bob says you are what you eat!  I also have a lovely group to golf with...Donna Salle, Marilyn Salle and my daughter Teresa who will be home visiting for two weeks.

But enough about me.  What about the 36 ladies that showed up to golf last week?  Flight 1 (Interior Savings Credit Union) winners were Marla Muldoon (low gross of 42) and Karen Peterson (low net).  Flight 2 (MJB Lawyers) winners were Deb Legaree (low gross of 45) and Louise Lodge (low net).  In Flight 3 (Cindy Leibel Westwin Realty) the low gross winner was Linda Ransome (47) and the low net winner was Susan Bondar.  Joan Gladwin took the low gross for Flight 4 with a score of 54.  There were no birdies or deuces so the pots continue to grow.

We had oodles of pin placement winners.  Linda Ransome continued her winning ways by picking up prizes from Station House Restaurant (long drive in 2) and Stamer Logging (KP).  Sue Paulhus had a good round and took home the prizes from The Blue Jar Coffee Bar & Bistro (long drive in 2) and Rainer Custom Cutting (long putt).  Christina LeCerf had a long drive in 2 (Val Bella Studios) and a long drive (Barriere Timber Mart).  Betty Baillie picked up three prizes from Armour Mountain Office Supplies (long putt), EBL Ventures (KP) and Country Store Antiques (long drive).  Single prizes went to Marion Wallace (long drive in 2 – AG Foods), Mikkii DeWolf (long putt – Barriere A & W), Donna Salle (Carl’s Market Garden – KP), Audrey Rilcoe (Campbell & Company – KP), Rose Seymour (HUB International – KP), Leslie Stirling (Crystlee’s Hair Design – long drive), Susan Mitchell (Ron Wallace Trucking – KP), Fiona Clare (Knight’s Inn – KP in 2), Deb Legaree (Pottery by Ramona – long putt), Anita Hill (Sam’s Pizza – long putt), Susan Bondar (Barriere Massage – least putts) and Val Aylward (Gift ‘n Gab – most putts).  The pin placement for Estylo Hair Design was not won so Dorothy Warman won the prize in a draw.

We will be having our annual Golf for Cancer on Aug. 23.  Pledge sheets will be passed out to the ladies beginning Tuesday the 19th.  If you would like to collect pledges give me a shout (250-672-5706) and I will get a pledge sheet to you,  In the meantime In case you haven’t noticed we are now more than half way through our 2016 ladies night golf season.  If you haven’t been out for a round with us yet...you had best get to it before the season is done.
