Things were foggy on Tuesday night. No, I don’t mean the weather. I mean my brain. I made some compounded mistakes…mistake upon mistake upon mistake until no one including me knew what the right answer was. We did muddle through and eventually, the right prize went to the right person. All I can say is “Thank God for Wite-Out.”

Twenty-seven ladies hit the fairways. The low/net sponsors this week were: Ainsley Gullage, of Sun Life Financial, Kelly McNabney or TriPeaks Physio, Brian and Brenda Carl and EBL Ventures.

Kelly McNabney scored 39 to win low gross for Flight 1 and Karen Peterson scored 45 to win low net. In Flight 2, Terri Jones scored 53 to win low gross and Debbie Rainer scored 54 to win low net. The Flight 3 winners were Lorie Chambers (53 low gross) and Emma Schilling (56 low net). The low gross in Flight 4 was a 61 by Kate Schilling and a 66 by Barb Smith was second low gross.

Karen Peterson had a phenomenal 10 putts to win least putts and Jo-Anne Livingstone had 25 putts to win most putts. Pot winners this week were Kelly McNabney (birdie in Flight 1), Karen Peterson (2 chip-ins in Flight 1) and Debbie Rainer (birdie Flight 2).

The winners of Long Drive in 2 were Sue Meger (Armour Mountain Office), Brenda Carl (Barriere Motor Inn), Kelly McNabney (Barriere Timber Mart) and Evelyn Lucas (Little Fort Subway). Long drives on Hole 5 earned prizes for Kelly McNabney (Rainer Custom Cutting), Terri Jones (Sam’s Pizza), Emma Schilling (Station House Restaurant) and Kate Schilling (Barb and Carman Smith). KPs on Hole 4 went to Theresa Young (Cindy Leibel Real Estate), Debbie Legaree (MJB Lawyer), Sue Meger (Salle Ranch) and Jamie Mosdell (Stamer Logging).

No one - I repeat - No one hit the green on Hole 4 so those KPs went unclaimed. On the other hand, many ladies drove their balls into the gully and picked up prizes from North Thompson Funeral Services. I was one of those ladies.

On Hole 7 the KPs in 2 went to Karen Peterson (Quality Contractors) and Emma Schilling (HUB International). Long putt prizes went to Susan Mitchell (AG Foods), Karen Peterson (Thompson Valley Awards) and Emma Schilling (Munro’s Clothing).

Debbie Rainer and I take turns being the announcer or the runner handing out the prizes. Along with many other wonderful wise quotes, Lutheran Pastor Martin Niemoller once said “If you can laugh at yourself, you are going to be fine. If you allow others to laugh with you, you will be great.”

Debbie and I are always trying to be great. We gave it a good go on Tuesday.

See you at the course.
