The Barriere Curling Club held a free Curling Fun Day for all ages on Sunday, Nov. 6.

The members of the Curling Club have been working day and night to get the ice shiny and smooth.  The painting of the floor was completed and the new ice was down and ready for the curlers to enjoy their first Fun Day event. There were three ender games, and even a turkey shoot - with people curling for the turkey.

“Come out and curl,” stated Club member Rodger Nordquist. “It’s a sport that any and all can enjoy.  If you can move your arms - you can curl.”

There are lots of leagues to choose from.  The Women’s league plays on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. starting Nov. 8.  The Senior’s league plays on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. starting Nov. 9.  The Men’s league plays on Thursdays at 7 p.m. starting Nov. 10.  There are also leagues for Minors and for Juniors, the dates and times for these to be announced.  The cost for joining depends on which league you wish to join.  For more information and to sign up, please call Rodger at 250-672-1054.
