Chinook Cove Ladies Golf hosted their annual Golf for Cancer Fund Raiser on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

Not only did we raise funds, but we raised a lot of fun as well.

The final tally was over $5300 and is to be used by the Canadian Cancer Society to assist families with the expenses that arise when a person is receiving treatment for cancer – wigs, travel, accommodations, dietary needs.   The aim is to help make a difficult time more bearable.

Fifty ladies took to the course and every one of them was a winner.  It was nice to see some new faces including another Lovely Leslee.

We would like to thank all the folks that collected and made pledges as well as those who donated door prizes.  Chinook Cove Golf Course did a fantastic job serving up a full turkey dinner, and we finished it off with a great cake from AG Foods.

Ladies Golf Captain Debbie Rainer and Treasurer Leslie Stirling were thrilled with the event and would like to thank the other half of their foursome, Lois McInnis and Donna Salle for helping with the paperwork.

As summer is drawing to a close we would like to mention that there are only three Ladies Nights left so don’t delay.  Come out next week.

“Queen for a day” was the theme for golfers Deb Winiski, Darlene Nickull, Susan Newberry and Barb Smith.
