Ladies having birthdays on the golf course at Chinook Cove

49 ladies enjoyed golf, enjoyed supper on the patio before indulging in cake and prizes

And the birthdays continue.  Susan Mitchell and Susan Newberry both celebrated another year this week and we all got to eat cake.  Talk about a win-win situation.  I can never get too much cake.

The weather was perfect, partly cloudy and warm.    49 ladies took to the course and then enjoyed supper on the patio before indulging in cake and prizes.  There were some new faces, some old faces and a lot of laughter.

Flight one was sponsored by Hub International.  Leana Layton won low gross with a score of 42 and Trudy Forsythe won low net with a score of 44 (29.5).  Flight Two was sponsored by Carl’s Market Garden.  Evelyn Lucas won low net with a score of 50 and Jeannie Webber won low net with a score of 53 (33.5).  EBL Ventures sponsored Flight 3.  Susan Bondar and Eileen Whitehead (Susan’s mother) split the low gross with scores of 55.

You could tell it was spring by the number of birdies on the course.  The pot was split by Truday Forsythe, Cindy Leibel and Brenda Oakland who had two birdies so earned half the pot.  The Interior Savings Credit Union putting prize was split by Leanna Layton (least putts totalling 12) and Deb Winiski (most putts totalling 27).

A number of ladies shared in the prize bounty.  Long drives in two on hole 1 were won by Truday Forsythe (Flight 1 - AG Foods), Evelyn Lucas (Flight 2 - Armoor Mountain Office Service) and Chrissey Pullen (Flight 3 - Barriere A & W).  Long putt prizes on hole 2 and 3 were won by Chris LeCerf (Flight 1 - Barriere Timber Mart), Barb Morris (Flight 2 - Barriere Massage) and Anita Hill (Flight 3 - Crystlee’s Hair Design.  Carol Hindle (Flight 1 - Bondar Forest Planning) and Hazel Cross (Flight 3 - Campbell & Co) had KPs on Hole 4.  Hole 5 low drive winners were Chris LeCerf (Flight 1 - Country Store Antiques), Evelyn Lucas (Flight 2 - Estylo Hair Design) and Susan Bondar (Flight 3 - Knights Inn).  Jeannie Webber (Flight 2 - Ron Wallace Trucking) and Susan Bondar (Flight 3 - Stamer Logging) scored KPs on hole 6.  On Hole 7 Brenda Oakland picked up the Pottery by Ramona prize for KP in two and a number of ladies picked up Rest in Peace prizes from Barb and Carman.  On Hole 8 Chrissy Pullen picked up the Rainer Custom Cutting prize for a long putt while Rose Seymour came closest to the sand to win the Sam’s Pizza prize.  Long putts on Hole 9 netted prizes for Cindy Leibel (Flight 1 - Station House Restaurant) and Barb Morris (Flight 2 - Val Bella Studio).

Next Tuesday (the 23rd) will be four club night and in July we are hosting our traditional Christmas in July.  I am always excited about that evening because the kitchen staff at Chinook Cove cooks up the most fantastic traditional Christmas dinner.  As you can see, for me golfing is all about the food.
