Ladies raise $4000 for Cancer Fund

Chinook Cove ladies golf report - Ladies raise $4000 for Cancer Fund

This year’s Chinook Cove Ladies Cancer Fund raiser on Aug. 20, was another success. Forty-eight ladies raised over $4000 for cancer research.  We want to take the time to thank all those who made this possible and if we forget a name or two please know that we tried our best not to miss anyone.

A big thanks to all the ladies that golfed and collected pledges.  Thank you to some who collected pledges even if they were available to golf.  And a special thank you those who made the pledges.

Some of the funds were raised through the sale of raffle tickets.  Our raffle tables included donations from the following: Dr. Kent Farnsworth, Carol Willox, Tyler Salle, Karl and Debbie Rainer, Rose Seymour, Linda Ransome, Bob Stirling, Interior Savings Credit Union,  Chinook Cove Golf, Artists from the Kamloops Courthouse Gallery (Lynda Enochsen, Sheila Dunn, Jan’s Weaving, Harold Richins).

Thanks to Leslie Stirling for handling the cash and seeing that the money got to the local chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Thank you to Leslie’s granddaughter Julia who helped her bake 94 ribbon shaped sugar cookies.

Thank you to the ladies in the kitchen who prepared a marvelous meal, and thank you to the wasps that chose to go to sleep before we sat down to supper.  And finally we would like to say a huge thank you to Debbie Rainer who does a fantastic job of organizing the raffles and gifts bags.  Each lady taking part in the evening of golf took home a well filled goody bag.

We look forward to having more ladies join us next year for this great event.
