The North Thompson Recreation Society have been planning for the forthcoming ski season and will be at the No Host Bazaar, Nov 19, in the Fall Fair Hall, Barriere, to answer your questions, take memberships and provide trail maps, as well as sell tickets on a raffle.
Lessons have been scaled down this year but plans are in the works for grade 8 lessons and family fun days and lessons at the trails in January.
Registration and rentals will be at the Barriere Ridge Friday, Jan. 6 from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The first lesson/fun day will be at the trails Sunday, Jan. 15, at 1 p.m. There will be lessons followed by snacks and hot drinks, and there are free skis/boots/poles, the three pin binding type, at the trails for adults to try.
Lessons will also be held at the trails on Sunday, Jan. 22, at 1 p.m., and following that in February there will be an evening candlelight ski and dinner.
The adult “ski and tea “will be every Tuesday and Thursday at 11 a.m. at the trails once the snow arrives in depth and the trails are groomed. Please call Mary MacLennan at 250-672-5802, or Carman Smith at 250-672-9403 if you have questions.
Let it snow!
