Low turnout again for Men’s Golf

By John Strachan

What a great evening for golf Thursday, May 19 turned out to be at Chinook Cove. It was a bright day and the evening remained as shirtsleeve weather.  Again, there was a somewhat lower turn out of golfers, but it did not lessen the fun for all who were there.

In Flight 1 Mike Webb took home the low gross score for the evening, while Ron Hadley took both the low net  score and the longest drive.  Paul Kavanagh made the longest putt of the evening, while Larry Colburn made the K.P. in 2.  No one claimed the KP so it will be carried over to next week.

In flight 2, John Strachan ended up with the low gross for the evening, and Ben Rainer had the low net.  Dustin Rainer had the longest drive of the group, and Mike Cline made the longest putt.

Bob Milburn doubled up by taking the prize for both a deuce and for K.P.,  while  Ian Mitchell rounded out the scoring by taking the K.P. in 2

In the door prize section of the evening, Brad Baker and Dan Taylor both won $10 gift certificates, while Jack Hays won the cart pass, and Ray Glebe took home a nine hole pass.

Thanks to all who showed up and made it a great evening.  Congratulations to all the winners and we will see you all again next week.  The name of the game for Thursday, June 2nd will be stroke play from the white tees.

Thought for the week:  Wouldn’t it be nice if whenever we messed up a shot we could simply press “Control-Alt-Delete” and start all over?
