Merry multitude of 34 hits the greens at Chinook Cove

Ladies Night Golf at Chinook Cove Golf Resort with Leslie Stirling

Expectations were high. I bought myself new golf clubs – Taylormade – for my birthday. Played a couple of rounds last week to get a feel for them. I had great hopes that they would improve my game. Maybe I would even get to put my name on some pins. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if I were to win low gross in my flight. I was sadly mistaken. Perhaps a bit more practicing will help. Hope springs eternal.

Here are the ladies whose clubs worked better than mine on June 13.

Karen Peterson won low gross for Flight 1 with a fantastic 45. Donna Salle followed close with a 46 to pick up low net. Vicki Hoffer and Susan Newberry both scored 45. Vicki won low gross by retro and Susan picked up the low net prize. In Flight 3 Carol Willox won low gross with a 53 while low net went to Cathy Paul with a 54 (36.5). Deb Winiski and Marie Hakes tied for low gross in Flight 4 with matching scores of 53.

On Hole 1 and 2 Cathy Paul, Deb Winiski, Catherine Phillips and Ilke Marais picked up prizes for Long Drives in 2. On Hole 3 Jeannie Webber and Irene Beeton made Long Putts. KP prizes on Hole 4 went to Donna Salle, Debbie Rainer, Audrey Rilcoe and Irene Beeton. Hole 5 saw prizes go to Donna Salle and Susan Newberry for Long Putts and Deb Winiski for a Long Drive. Catherine Phillips and Betty Baillie had KPs on Hole 4 and the remaining two KP prizes were not claimed. A merry multitude of ladies drove their balls into the gully to pick up a Rest in Peace prize from North Thompson Funeral Services. On Hole 7 Stacey Gartner and Carol Hindle won the prizes for KPs in 2 while Babes Shanko came Closest to the Tree. Long Putts on Hole 8 earned prizes for Linda Ransome and Trish Thompson. On Hole 9 Carol Hindle and Susan Newberry picked up prizes for Long Drives. Putt prizes went to Vicki Hoffer least with 13) and Stacey Gartner (most with 26). Deb Winiski scored birdie on Hole 1 to keep the pot to herself.

And now … the sponsors of the week are Hub International/Chad Belbin who sponsor our low gross/net for Flight 1 and Kelly VanGenne (ExpediaCruiseShipCenters.com/KellyVanGenne) who sponsors the high/low putts. Let’s give them a round of applause.

Many of our ladies were busy with other activities so there were only 34 out this week. We miss them when they aren’t here. We hope they will be back next week.
