For some, open riding in the North Thompson Agriplex has been a long time in coming, but facility managers say the time is actually just right.
Part of the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo Association facility in Barriere, the Agriplex is still in a construction phase. However, NTFFRA reps say the construction on the inside of the arena part of the building is now completed to the point where they feel comfortable in opening the arena for local horsemen who want to get some riding in during the winter months.
At this time the arena will be open each week for riding on Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Wednesdays, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Riders must be members in good standing of the NTFFRA (which has an annual membership fee of $5), or the Barriere and District Riding Club. There will be a $10 per rider fee for each day, with monies collected going towards the Agriplex building fund.
