The Canadian Mountain Bike Downhill Championships will return for a third straight year to Sun Peaks Resort in 2016.

Cycling Canada made the announcement on April 22.

The 2015 national championships will be held on the challenging and picturesque trails at Sun Peaks on July 11 and July 12.

“With successful organizer Henry Pejril at the helm, Sun Peaks Resort boasts a solid reputation in downhill racing,” a Cycling Canada press release said.

“The venue offers all the amenities on-site at the mountain-base village, featuring over 7,000 beds minutes from the chairlift, restaurants, boutiques and artisan markets on the weekend.”

Cycling Canada also announced the host sites for four other events.

The Global Relay Canadian Road Championships will be held in Ottawa and Gatineau, Que., from June 25 to June 29; the 2016 Canadian Mountain Bike Cross Country Championships will be held in Baie St. Paul, Que, from July 14 to July 17; the Canadian BMX Championships will run in Calgary from Sept. 2 to Sept. 5.; and the Horseshoe Hustle Canadian XCM Championships, an endurance event, will be held in Horseshoe Valley, Ont., on Sept. 11.
