A fair-sized crowd of young people and their parents or caregivers took part in the Clearwater Children’s Art Festival at Dutch Lake Community Centre on Wednesday, Aug. 9. North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo’s Ambassador program 2017 candidates, Miss Insight Tire Emma Hamblin, and Miss Barriere IDA Payden Irving, were on site to hand out passports to the event attendees.

This year’s theme for the North Thompson Fall Fair is the pride of the chicken coop… the ‘rooster’. The Fair will also be celebrating Canada’s 150 birthday during the event, and they are inviting everyone to participate in the big Saturday parade on Sept. 2, or the family parade on the Labour Day Monday. They wore blue suede shoes and sequined jumpsuits when the King returned to Barriere last weekend when 10 Elvis tribute artists gathered for the Canadian Bluemoon Elvis Festival at the North Thompson Fall Fairgrounds for three days of music and good times.

The Canadian Bluemoon Elvis Festival’s 5th Annual is being held this coming weekend July 14 - 16, at the North Thompson Fall Fairgrounds in Barriere, B.C. This year they are having a Hawaiian theme. Aloha!
